Wound Care Services

Sometimes wounds really do need time to heal.

Critical care hospitals like Vibra Hospital of Northern California are specialty hospitals that provide care for individuals in need of hospital-level services for an extended period of time. For a variety of reasons, traditional hospitals may not be equipped to provide this type of care, so they may refer patients with advanced wound care needs to us to continue their treatment programs.

During a stay at Vibra Hospital of Northern California, our team can provide specialized treatments for patients suffering from complex wounds. Our goals are to help patients reduce pain, stimulate healing, and avoid infection. We aim to help patients progress to the point in their recovery that they can return home or to a lower level of care, like a skilled nursing facility or home healthcare service.

Vibra Hospital of Northern California’s complex wound care program features:

Specialized wound care in a hospital environment.

Our skilled medical professionals have advanced knowledge of wound care practices. We provide a wide range of wound care services and can treat a variety of conditions using the latest wound care technology and treatment protocols. We offer wound assessment, monitoring, specialized beds and equipment, an on-site laboratory for testing, pain management, IV antibiotics, and other medication management services. For patients requiring antibiotics, we utilize an interdisciplinary antibiotic stewardship process by which we closely monitor antibiotic dosing, timing, and use. We know that proper nutrition is also essential to wound healing. Our team works with each patient to ensure they have proper dietary support throughout their recovery.

Focused rehabilitation services.

Wounds can affect the body in a number of ways, sometimes altering an individual’s movement, strength, and ability to perform self-care activities. In these cases, rehabilitation services may be provided as needed. Our rehabilitation services are tailored to each patient’s abilities, needs, and comfort level. We’re able to provide a full range of therapy services (physical, occupational, and speech-language), whether at a patient’s bedside or in our rehab gym.

Patient and family support services.

Each patient is assigned a dedicated, interdisciplinary support team. We are here to help patients and their family members through the recovery process. We encourage family involvement and offer education opportunities for caregivers. Our team members work hard to ensure that each individual has access to the resources, training, equipment, and support they need.
