Hector Riojas

When Hector Riojas arrived at Vibra Hospital of Northern California, daily life was a struggle. Severe wounds and problems with his prosthetic legs left him unable to get out of bed or transfer to a wheelchair on his own. He was referred to Vibra Hospital, a critical care hospital specializing in complex medical needs and extended recovery, for the expert care he needed to heal.

While Vibra Hospital’s wound care team worked diligently to heal his wounds, Hector’s physical therapy team collaborated with prosthetics professionals from Spectrum Orthotics and Prosthetics to restore and adjust his prosthetic legs. The team not only ensured the legs fit properly again but also optimized them to help Hector walk more comfortably and safely.

Even before his prosthetics were ready, Hector gave his all in therapy each day. He worked hard to build strength and participated fully in every activity he could. His perseverance paid off.

By the time he progressed through Vibra Hospital’s transitional care program, which bridges recovery between critical care and home, Hector’s wounds were healed, and he had made incredible progress with physical and occupational therapy. Today, he is walking on his own, even up and down stairs, an achievement that reflects both his determination and the dedication of his care team.

Hector, your patience and perseverance have been truly inspiring. It has been our honor to be part of your recovery journey, and we wish you continued success in all that lies ahead.
